Hillsdale College seeks to fill a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of German to commence August 2010. Candidates should have completed (or be near completion of) a Ph.D. degree in German literature, demonstrate excellence in and dedication to teaching language and literature on all undergraduate levels of a traditional liberal arts school, possess native or near native command of German and English, and show evidence of scholarly potential. Applicants should familiarize themselves with the College’s Mission Statement and include in their letters a detailed response to the mission, addressing their interest and ability to teach in light of its commitments. Salary and benefits are competitive. Hillsdale College, a  private, independent liberal arts institution with a traditional mission, seeks a Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor in Spanish. Full-time temporary replacement for academic year 2010-2011, possibly renewable for 2011-2012.  Generalists desired with the ability to teach all levels of Spanish language (11-12 hour course load).  Native or near-native fluency. ABD considered.  All courses are taught in the target language.
