The Assistant Director of the Barney Charter School Initiative must have excellent communication skills in order to discuss Hillsdale College and the Barney Charter School Initiative effectively to individuals across the country. Candidate must have an understanding of the mission of Hillsdale College and its philosophy, as well as educational practices and philosophies of the initiative. Duties include: review draft charter applications from founding groups and prepare feedback; respond to public inquiries about the initiative; design and implement search methods to identify school principal candidates; acquire and manage a curriculum library and have an understanding of how recommended books fit in with the course work; creation of generic class schedules; make arrangements for teacher training, including curriculum support and scheduling; and manage the execution of written agreements with schools among other duties.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree with a master’s preferred and five years of experience with program development and management responsibilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job.

PART-TIME NIGHT SECURITY OFFICER – Duties and responsibilities include secure buildings and maintain surveillance over College buildings and property. DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH will create and maintain current, accurate, and well-defined institutional data and information and ensure effective access to that information on the part of relevant internal and external users. The director will also develop data sets of information to record as well as definitions and protocols for keeping information current and consistent.
The applicant must be familiar with quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistics and have strong statistical and analytical skills. Applicant must have the ability to work independently, attend to multiple projects, and meet deadlines; as well as possess effective management skills.
A bachelor’s degree is required from a four-year college or university and a master’s degree is preferred. Three years of relevant experience in a higher education management/leadership setting is desired; or a combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job.

VIDEO CONTENT EDITOR - will create video content for Hillsdale College. This person will be involved at every stage of video content production, from generating ideas for segments, to filming and directing video shoots, to editing and compositing films, to final output and marketing of the videos.
Video content will primarily be posted on the College’s website and YouTube channel, but may be used in other venues on- or off-campus. Video content will always be supportive of the mission of the College, and conform to Hillsdale’s established brand standards and guidelines. Applicant must possess the ability to edit at a fast pace and have strong creative and organizational skills. The Video Content Editor must have extensive knowledge in Adobe CS, Apple FCP or Avid Media Composer as well as knowledge of overall formatting for web and mobile devices.
A Master’s degree in broadcast journalism, video, or film production is preferred with five or more years of experience in a related field and/or experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job.

WEB CONTENT MANAGER - will oversee the content of the College’s entire website, including Academics, Admissions, Athletics, and Institutional Advancement sections of the site. This involves complete web migration to new design and CMS, generating and posting new web site content; including articles, videos, and social media posts that meet established branding and content standards.
Applicant must possess advanced verbal and written skills; excellent editing and proofreading skills, experience working with website content management system (CMS), and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite CS. Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to stay motivated and effectively work with others.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or a web-related field and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job.
