Some thirty miles south of Sanliurfa lies Harran, historical home of Abraham at the time God first encountered him (Genesis 11:31 - 12:1).
Here we will see a village of curious mud-brick, beehive houses that are surprisingly well-ventilated and help make the hot climate bearable.
Harran has been inhabited for 6000 years, making it one of the oldest continuously-inhabited places in the world.
