The biology curriculum at Hillsdale College is aimed at providing a broad foundation in the biological sciences for subsequent specialized training in graduate or professional schools, for a career in teaching, or as a liberal arts background for a career in industry. The Biology Department offers a diversity of courses ranging from microbiology to organismal biology and ecology. State-of-the-art facilities and equipment enhance coursework and student research. Additionally, the Department uses Slayton Arboretum, Lakes Winona and Barber, and the 685-acre Hillsdale College Biological Station in northern Michigan as outdoor laboratories.
