Overview

By special arrangement, a student following a combined curriculum in dentistry may earn a baccalaureate degree from Hillsdale College by completing three years of study at Hillsdale plus the first year in a recognized professional school. To be recommended for this combined course, a student must have maintained a minimum grade-point average of 3.000 for the three years completed at Hillsdale College, as well as completed the graduation requirements for his major and the College. The minimum requirement for admission to a school of dentistry is 60 hours. However, there has been a tendency to raise this minimum and to advise students to complete at least three years of liberal arts study before entrance. For further information and for assistance in planning a course of study, contact the pre-professional advisor.

Within a sound liberal arts curriculum, Hillsdale College has included basic courses preparing students for graduate study or entrance into professional schools. The student planning such specialized study should consult the advisor in his particular field of interest for an outline of required subjects and should also consult the catalog of the institution at which he intends to continue his studies. Though requirements are fairly uniform within a given field, they do vary somewhat among professional and graduate schools.
