A student majoring in financial management must complete a total of 49 credit hours. The student is first required to complete a common core of business courses in addition to the general college requirements. This core consists of the following courses totaling 34 semester hours:

Sophomore Year:

ACC 209 Principles of Accounting I
ACC 210 Principles of Accounting II
ECO 202 Principles of Microeconomics
ECO 203 Principles of Macroeconomics
ECO 206 Business and Economics Statistics
MTH 213 Differential Calculus

Junior Year:

BUS 315 Principles of Marketing
BUS 320 Quantitative Analysis
BUS 330 Financial Management
BUS 400 Management Theory and Practice
LAW 320 Business Law I

In addition to this business core, the financial management major must take 15 advanced semester hours in financial management. Students majoring in financial management must take the following 9 semester hours:

BUS 401 Advanced Financial Management
BUS 410 Investments I
BUS 411 Futures and Options Markets

Also, the student must take one of these two courses:

BUS 418 Readings in Power, Leadership and Responsibility
BUS 419 Business Ethics

And one of the following:

BUS 431 Case Studies in Finance
BUS 432 International Finance
BUS 433 Investments II
BUS 434 Risk Management
ECO 362 Econometrics

Business students are encouraged to take additional math and computer science courses. Also, it is recommended that they learn a second language. The following courses from other departments are recommended as electives:
