Students will be required to complete a research project and senior thesis in their major field. This research should have an environmental emphasis. It is recommended that students apply for environmentally oriented summer internships at academic, industrial or government laboratories. Such an internship may be substituted for the thesis requirement, subject to Department approval or recommendation. Students interested in environmental engineering should complete Hillsdale’s pre-engineering curriculum and then transfer to an engineering school that offers a B.S. degree in environmental engineering.
