Dance Minor

A student wishing to minor in dance within the Theatre and Speech Department must successfully complete at least 22 credits in dance and theatre as per the following list of courses.

REQUIRED CLASSES:
Ballet (DNC 160, 260, or 360)—2 credits
Modern Dance (DNC 190, 290, or 390)—2 credits
Improvisation/Choreography I (DNC 220)—2 credits
Improvisation/ Choreography II (DNC 320)—2 credits
Acting III (THE 435)—3 credits
Pilates (DNC 170)—1 credit
History of Dance (DNC 215)—3 credits
Repertoire (DNC 210)—2 credits
TOTAL = 17 credits

ELECTIVES: (any combination adding to five or more credits):
Ballet/Modern Dance (DNC 160, 260, 360, 190, 290, 390)—(courses beyond the classes required above)
Intermediate Social Dance (DNC 250)
Special Topics in Dance (DNC 393)
Acting I (THE 235)
Basic Theatre Technology (THE 225)
Any Music course (subject to approval of the director of the Dance Program)
TOTAL = 5 credits
