The Career Planning Office provides resources and promotes activities that enable students to identify, develop and pursue post-baccalaureate options. Liberal arts students develop critical thinking, communication and information management skills applicable to a variety of settings. Our office is designed to facilitate and help students explore all their options.

Following is a brief outline of the many services your Career Planning Office offers:

  • Focus II—A computerized database that assesses a student’s interest and skills and, in turn, assists him or her in career choices.  The database also allows students to perform in-depth research on more than 2,000 occupations.
  • Career Advising—Designed to allow students the opportunity to define career options and to discuss career plans and equip themselves with such job search tools as resume/cover letter writing, interviewing techniques and job-hunting strategies.  Seminars on these topics are also offered each semester. 
  • Graduate/Professional School Information—The Career Planning Office has research materials and announcements pertaining to graduate schools, assistantships and entrance examinations.  The Career Planning Office also has the Kaplan Review courses for GMAT, GRE and LSAT available for students.
  • On-Campus Interviews—Employers send recruiters to campus throughout the academic year to fill employment needs.  More than 30 companies visit the campus annually.
  • Job Fairs—Listings and applications for job fairs across the nation.
  • Web SiteCareer Links, Job Listings, Calendar, and Job Fair information.
  • Honor Roll Online and What Can I Do With This Major?—Available through Career Links.
  • Career Café—An opportunity for students to visit the Career Planning Office and to enjoy free coffee and breakfast treats with faculty from various academic departments.
