INCOME POLICY INTERN
Work in DC this summer as an intern in the Office of Economic Policy with the US Treasury. Internship begins May 15 and lasts through the middle of August. You will work with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States. Major: Political Science, Economics, Finance or Political Economy. INTERCOLLEGIATE STUDIES INSTITUTE (ISI)

INTERNATIONAL RADIO & TELEVISION SOCIETY FOUNDATION, INC. (IRTS, INC.)
The Summer Fellowship Program, the most notable student outreach effort of IRTS, teaches up-and-coming communicators the realities of the business world through an all-expense-paid fellowship, which includes practical experience and career planning advice. A select number of college juniors, seniors and graduate students are chosen from over 800 applicants across the country to attend the Summer Fellowship Program. The program lasts a total of nine weeks. The Summer Fellows begin with an extensive one-week orientation to broadcasting, cable, advertising, and news media. During this time, students have a rare opportunity to question industry professionals at panels, lectures, and group discussions. They also take a number of related field trips and learn networking skills by attending industry social functions. Focus is placed on enhancing career planning, resume writing, and interviewing skills. Following this first week, the students gain full-time "real world" experience at New York-based corporations to which each is assigned for the duration of the eight-week Fellowship. The students are then able to reinforce or redefine specific career goals through the comprehensive Summer Fellowship Program before settling into a permanent job in the electronic media industry.

MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION
The Make-a-Wish Foundation of Michigan has granted wishes to over 5,300 special children in Michigan.  Of each dollar spent in FY 2007, more than 80 cents went directly to granting wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.  Funding comes from individual contributors, special events, corporate donations and sponsorships, foundation grants, workplace giving programs, and planned gifts.  These wishes would not be realized without the dedication and support of the volunteers, donors, and staff.
