Every person, in some way, nearly every day, is touched by Information Technology Services (ITS).  Today, since most every innovation or new device the College employs to gain an advantage has a digital component to make it work, ITS is involved. 

Unseen, likened to the nervous system, ITS provides the technology in the form of high-speed fiber optic and wireless networks that connect the devices and systems all College students and staff use to create, communicate, store, search, and retrieve the information vital to the day-to-day operation of this College, our own livelihood, and personal enjoyment. 

The services ITS offers include the following: electronic mail, calendaring, tasking, contact lists, notes, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, databases, notes, task lists; setup and maintenance of desktop, laptop, tablet computers, cell phones, and iPod-like devices; printers, copiers, and scanners; including heating and cooling system control, building entry system operation, and security camera monitoring; centrally located application servers on campus and every other web-based service available on the planet. 

Most recent major projects have included the system side of the College’s website redesign, implementation of Datatel Colleague administrative software, and implementation and training for the ImageNow integrated document management system.  If it’s digital there is the idea that ITS knows about it and how it works.  At times it is new to ITS, but together, with the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of Hillsdale College, they do make it work!
