Outlook Permissions

Under no circumstances should a person share his or her Network, email or AS/400 password. However it is often necessary for you to have access to another user's email inbox or calandar. The user must set the preferences in their personal account for another to gain the appropriate access. Follow this simple procedure to give or gain access to the desired information.

To give Access to another User:

  1. Right click on the folder you want another to have access (i.e. Inbox or Calandar).
  2. Left click on Properties.
  3. Left click on Add.
  4. Find the name of the person who needs access and double click to add.
  5. Select the appropriate permissions from the list.
  6. Left click Apply.
  7. Left click OK.

To View another User's Folder (i.e. Inbox or Calandar).

  1. Left click on File, Open, Other User's Folder.
  2. Left click on Name.
  3. Find User and double click on the user's name.
  4. Left Click on OK.

If the user has granted you the permissions (steps 1-7) then the folder you wish to see will appear.
