Girls Win Second Consecutive Regional Title

The girls' track and field team had another outstanding season, winning their third straight SCAA Title and second straight Regional Championship.  The girls finished the season with a 7-0 dual meet record.  The girls have now won 27 consecutive duals.  The team finished third in the MITCA Team State Championship and sixth at the MHSAA State Finals.  Junior Clara Leutheuser earned All-State honors in four events.  She was third in the 800 with a time of 2:20.9 and anchored the 4x800 (4th), 4x400 (5th) and 4x200 (5th).  Senior Gwen Buchhop finished second in the state in the shot put to earn all-state honors.  Junior Mary Somerville (3 relays), Freshman Grace Leutheuser (2 relays), Junior Tera Woods (2 relays), and Junior Natalie Ewers (1 relay) each earned All-State status.
