Q:
Why should I complete the CFFS?

A:
Hillsdale College offers several privately-funded, need-based financial aid sources. These sources provide both gift aid (grant) and private, institutional loan opportunities. Some need-based aid sources mirror eligibility requirements and features offered within federal aid programs. Other opportunities are unique to Hillsdale College and may have criteria in addition to demonstrated need.
Your eligibility for need-based aid at Hillsdale could differ from year to year. If, therefore, you were not eligible for need-based aid sources in a given year, please do consider reapplying if there has been a recent change in your family’s financial status. The number of students attending college is likely the most common change that significantly affects eligibility. Your estimated family contribution (EFC) number is simply divided by the number of children attending college. Example: If your EFC was $30,000 with one child in college, it could drop to $15,000 for each child when the second starts college.
