
Charles Luellen Elected to Hillsdale College Board of Trustees
Charles Luellen of Austin, Texas, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Hillsdale College.
Mr. Luellen retired in 1992 as president and chief operating officer of Ashland, Inc., a diversified energy, chemical, materials and environmental services company now based in Covington, Kentucky. Mr. Luellen’s career at Ashland spanned 40 years, during which time he served in leadership roles in numerous local civic and charitable organizations and held various directorships on outside corporate boards.
A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Mr. Luellen received a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University in 1952 following two years of service in the U.S. Army. Mr. Luellen has been married to Sydney Riddle of Ashland, Kentucky, for 55 years. They have two daughters and two grandsons. Mr. Luellen was a trustee of Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, from 1987 to 2001.
