June 17, 2008 - Brad Monastiere, the Sports Information Director at Hillsdale College, has been awarded the Grant-Burger Media Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Monastiere has been the SID at Hillsdale since June 2005. The AVCA awards one SID from each of the eight regions around the nation for this award. The award goes to the sports information director who "have been involved in the advancement of the sport of volleyball, whether it be through consistent coverage in all mediums (sports information, print, broadcasting and web content), production of volleyball-specific publications or extensive radio and/or television exposure."

Over the past two years, Hillsdale College has served as the host for both the GLIAC Volleyball Tournament and the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Tournament (both in 2006). Monastiere served as tournament director for both events.
