Charger volleyball team participating in "Dig Pink" promotion at homematches this weekend
October 6, 2008 – The Hillsdale College volleyball team will be participating in a national effort to help spike breast cancer at its next set of home matches Oct. 10-11.
The Chargers will wear pink jerseys (as modeled by Sydney Dow and Kitt Smith below) at their home matches

against Lake Superior State (7 p.m. Oct. 10) and Saginaw Valley State (2 p.m. Oct. 11) to help support the Dig Pink program, the 2008 National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally. The promotion was established by the Side-Out Foundation, a group formed out of a mutual love of the sport of volleyball, as well as a desire to fight breast cancer.
The pink jerseys worn by the players will be auctioned off throughout the weekend. Anyone is welcome to submit a bid to purchase a jersey.
The first 100 people to make a $5 donation at each match will receive a breast cancer ribbon car freshner or a food coupon. The first 10 people to donate $10 to the cause will receive a T-shirt. The first nine people to donate $20 will receive a Hillsdale College pink water bottle.
This marks the first year the Hillsdale College volleyball team has been a part of this nationwide effort, which spans the month of October and will take place at high school and college volleyball venues throughout the country.
We hope you can all come out to Jesse Philips Arena Oct. 10 and 11 not only to watch one of the best volleyball teams in the GLIAC compete, but to also support the Dig Pink promotion and the Side-Out foundation.
