October 10, 2008 - The Hillsdale College women's basketball team enjoyed its best season in school history last year. With 10 players returning from that team, preseason accolades are sure to follow, and one college basketball website has given the Chargers some of those accolades.

The website smallcollegehoops.com has ranked Hillsdale 15th in its Division II women's basketball preseason poll. The only other GLIAC team to be ranked in the preseason poll is Michigan Tech, who checks in at seventh.

Hillsdale returns four starters from last year's team, including First-Team All-American forward Katie Cezat. A senior, Cezat led the nation in scoring average last season (24.0), and broke 10 school records and four GLIAC records during her incredible campaign.

GLIAC All-Defensive player Claire Aubrey also returns as a starter, along with guards Brooke Knight and Janay Miller.

Hillsdale opens practice for the 2008-09 season on Oct. 15, and plays its first regular season game Nov. 15 vs. Oakland City in Rolla, Mo.
