October 30, 2008 - The Hillsdale College men's basketball team was selected by members of the media to finish in second place in the South Division in the preseason poll, released Thursday morning.

Senior center Tony Gugino was one of five players selected for the preseason All-South Division Team in a poll of conference coaches. Gugino led the GLIAC in scoring in 2007-08 with a 19.3 points-per-game clip.

The Chargers return four starters from last year's team that finished 14-14 overall. In addition to Gugino, guards Evan Steward and Keith MacKenzie return, along with senior Travis Worst. MacKenzie led the GLIAC in assists a year ago, while Steward has been one of the conference's best free throw shooters over the past two seasons.
