
Four-for-six: Katie Cezat wins fourth GLIAC South Division Player of the Week award
Charger senior now has 10 such awards in her career
December 22, 2008 - For the fourth time this season, Hillsdale College senior forward Katie Cezat has been named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week. The award was announced by the conference office Monday evening.
Cezat has won the award four times out of a possible six weeks so far in the 2008-09 season. She won the award six times in the 2007-08 season, including five in a row starting in January.
Last week, the sixth-ranked Chargers played two two-point games, winning one and losing one. Cezat averaged 30.5 points and 19.5 rebounds in the two games, as Hillsdale defeated Findlay and lost to Grand Valley State.
Against the Oilers, Cezat had 34 points and 18 rebounds as the Chargers pulled out a 72-70 win.
In Saturday's game at Grand Valley State, Cezat had 27 points and 21 rebounds, while hitting 13-of-16 free throws. Her 21 rebounds represent her fourth 20-rebound game of the season. Cezat currently leads the GLIAC in scoring average, rebounding average and blocked shots per game average.
