Taking the fifth: Katie Cezat named GLIAC South Division Player of the Week for fifth time this season
January 12, 2009 - For the fifth time this season and 1th overall, Hillsdale College senior Katie Cezat has been named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week. The award was announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Cezat, the GLIAC leader in scoring, rebounding and blocked

shots, had another dominanting weekend in leading the Chargers to a 2-0 mark on the road against a pair of South Division rivals.
Cezat led Hillsdale to its first win over Northwood in Midland in six years Thursday, getting 28 points, 17 rebounds and six blocked shots in the Chargers' 80-76 overtime win over the Timberwolves. In that game, she broke her own single-season school records for blocked shots. Including her three blocks Saturday at Wayne State, Cezat now has 46 blocked shots on the season, nine better than her 28-game total from a year ago.
Cezat led all players with 31 points, eight rebounds and six assists in Hillsdale's 79-62 win over the Warriors in Detroit. In four games against Wayne State since the start of last season, Cezat has scored 133 points, more than 33 points per game.
