Katie Cezat brings home GLIAC Player of the Year honors for second straight season
March 5, 2009 - Hillsdale College senior Katie Cezat was named the GLIAC Player of the Year at the conference awards banquet held in Houghton, Michigan Thursday night.
It was the second-straight season Cezat has nabbed the top player honor from the conference. The voting was done by GLIAC coaches.
Cezat was joined on the First-Team All-South Division by junior guard Brooke Knight. Knight and senior guard Claire Aubrey were each named to the South Division All-Defensive Team. This is the second year in a row Aubrey has earned her way on to that team.
This season, Cezat established herself as one of the most productive players in the history of the GLIAC. She broke seven conference single-season records, and led the conference in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots.
Knight led the conference in assists, and ranks sixth nationally in that category. Aubrey started every game for the 25-3 Chargers and always drew the toughest defensive assignment of the team's foes.
