May 21, 2009 - Hillsdale College junior Aaron Falk finished third in the nation in the hammer throw Thursday afternoon at the 2009 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Falk threw the hammer a distance of 209 feet, 5 inches, the second-best mark of his career. That was good for third place at the event, granting him All-American status in that event for the second consecutive year.
Saturday night, junior sprinter Jazmin Williams hit a new high point in what has been an outstanding career at Hillsdale, becoming the newest All-American in Charger track history.
Williams finished third in the nation in the 400 meter hurdles with a personal-best and school-record time of 59.3 seconds. Her finish represents the highest-ever finish by a female sprinter in Hillsdale College track history at the national meet.

Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships
May 13, 2009 - The history of Hillsdale College track and field is filled with All-Americans and athletes who have accomplished things at the highest level of the sport. But never have this many

athletes qualified for the national championships as we have in 2009.
A total of nine Charger athletes have qualified for the 2009 NCAA DIvision II Outdoor Track and Field championships, scheduled for San Angelo, Texas from May 21-23. Hillsdale will have a presence in a total of eight different events, between the men and women.
On the men's side, Jared Krout (400 dash) and Aaron Falk (hammer throw) are making another appearance on the national stage for Hillsdale. Falk, who has already earned All-American accolades in his career, is pictured at right.
Seven women will cap an outstanding season for their team by participating in the national meet.
The team's 4x100 relay team qualified for the national meet just last week, at the first-ever Charger Classic in Hillsdale. The team of Circe Cansino, Marta Scheiwe, Katie Hunt and Jazmin Williams turned in a qualifying-time of 47.04 seconds, earning them a spot at the national meet.
Freshman Jennifer Shaffer will line up in the 800 meter run, making her the second freshman from the cross country/track program to make the national meet this school year.
On the other end of the experience spectrum, senior Sarah Kauk qualified for nationals in the pole vault event. Kauk, who just graduated as one of the finest student-athletes at Hillsdale, has been a pole vaulter for four years, and will make her first appearance at the outdoor national championships.

Jasmine Mays will join the group as an alternate for the 4x100 relay.
In addition to their spots on the 4x100 relay team, Hunt, Williams and Scheiwe (pictured) also qualified in other events. Hunt will be in the long jump, while Scheiwe will run in the 400 dash. Williams has been a strong force in the 400 meter hurdles, and is a national qualifier in that event.
