June 26, 2009 - For the fifth time in the past six semesters, a Hillsdale College athlete has been honored with a GLIAC Commissioner's Award.
Recent graduate Sarah Kauk, a pole vaulter for the Charger

women's track team, earned a Spring GLIAC Commissioner's Award, which recognizes the most elite student-athletes across all sports and all conference schools in the spring 2009 season.
In addition, a total of 32 Charger athletes were named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team for the Spring 2009 season. Athletes in baseball, softball, and men's and women's track were all honored.
Kauk was an exercise science major at Hillsdale, and graduated with an overall grade point average of 3.9, the highest among all student-athletes at Hillsdale College. She was named to the GLIAC All-Academic team a total of six times in her career, and was a naitonal qualifier in the pole vault in both indoor and outdoor track. She also holds the school record in the pole vault event in both indoor and outdoor venues.
Past winners of the GLIAC Commissioner's Award from Hillsdale College include Mark Nicolet (football), Tim Sayers (men's track), Stephanie Booms (volleyball) and Katie Cezat (women's basketball).
