Sept. 8, 2009 - Hillsdale College junior quarterback Troy Weatherhead was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week after his performance Saturday against Michigan Tech. The award was announced by the conference office Tuesday

morning.
Weatherhead put together an outstanding day as the Chargers edged the Huskies 37-35 in the GLIAC opener for both teams on Sept. 5. He completed 24-of-32 passes for 324 yards and three touchdown passes.
His 324 yards through the air are the second-most he's had in a game in his career, and his three touchdown passes are also the second-most he's had in a game. In the win over MTU, he completed 75 percent of his passes, and his three TD passes went to three different players.
Weatherhead set a school record with 242 completions in 2008, and is in his second season as the Chargers' starting quarterback. He played his high school football in the Grand Rapids suburb of Comstock Park.
