Sept. 14, 2009 - Sophomore middle hitter Clara Leutheuser became the second Charger volleyball player to be named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week this season on Monday afternoon. The award was announced by the conference office.
Leutheuser, a middle hitter, was a driving force of the Hillsdale offense as it went 2-0 on a road trip through the state of Ohio last weekend. She finished the two matches with a total of 17 kills and one error, with an eye-popping hitting percentage of .552.
She had nine kills and no errors in a 3-0 sweep of Ashland University Saturday afternoon. That performance came on the heels of an eight-kill performance in just two sets played in a 3-1 win over Tiffin last Friday night.

Leutheuser is from Hillsdale and played her high school ball at Hillsdale Academy. She and her Charger teammates will play their first home match of the season Tuesday night, when the host the University of Findlay starting at 7 p.m.
