December 7, 2009 - One of the best players in recent Hillsdale College women's basketball history earned her first player of the week honor Monday afternoon.
Senior guard Brooke Knight was named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week. The award was announced by the conference office.
Knight led the Chargers to a 2-0 weekend and into first place in the division. She played 74 out of a possible 80 minutes in the two games, and averaged 19 points and eight assists per game to lead Hillsdale to wins on the road over Lake Superior State (75-74) and Saginaw Valley State (76-66).
In the win over the Cardinals Saturday, Knight set new season-highs in points (21) and assists (10). In the one-point win over the Lakers last Thursday, Knight contributed 17 points.
In 2008-09, Knight was named First-Team All-GLIAC and set the school's single-season assists record. She also carries a 3.7 overall grade point average.
