Kay Orr Elected to Hillsdale College Board of Trustees
Former Nebraska Governor Kay Orr has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Hillsdale College.
Kay Orr, who served as the 36th Governor of Nebraska from 1987 to 1991, was the first Republican woman to be elected governor in the United States.
She has served on the board of directors of The Williams Companies, Inc., an Oklahoma-based producer of natural gas, and as a trustee of Hastings College. She and her husband, Bill, reside in Lincoln, Nebraska. Two of their seven grandchildren are current students at Hillsdale College.
“We are honored to have Governor Orr as a member of our Board of Trustees,” said Hillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn. “Her commitment to education and to American constitutionalism will be invaluable to the governance of the College and its mission of ‘pursuing truth and defending liberty’.”
