2009-10 Women's Basketball All-GLIAC release
March 4, 2010 - A total of five Hillsdale College men's and women's basketball players earned postseason conference awards Thursday night.
Senior women's players Brooke Knight and Janay Miller were each named Second-Team All-GLIAC South Division.
On the men's side, senior Luke Laser and sophomore Brent Eaton were each named to the Second Team All-GLIAC South Division also. Sophomore guard Tyler Gerber was the lone Chargers to be named to the GLIAC South Division All-Defensive Team.
The honors were announced at the postseason awards banquets, held in Houghton, Mich. (women's) and Findlay, Ohio (men's). The All-GLIAC teams were compiled on a vote by the conference coaches.
This marks the third year in a row Knight has been named to

either the First or Second Team All-GLIAC South Division, wrapping up an outstanding career with the Chargers. In 2009-10, Knight was the only player in the conference to average at least 10 points, five rebounds and six assists per game. She led the GLIAC in assists per game for the second year in a row, and leaves Hillsdale No. 2 on its all-time assists list.
Miller, a member of the 2009 GLIAC All-Tournament Team, finished her career with 940 points in her three seasons as a starter. This was her first all-conference award in her career.
Gerber stepped in as the men's team starting point guard in 2009-10, and finished the regular season leading the GLIAC in both assists per game and steals per game.
Eaton had an outstanding season, his first at Hillsdale after transferring from the University of Winscons-Green Bay. He led the team with a 14.0 points per game scoring average, and led the GLIAC in 3-point field goal percentage (.472). He was named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week back on Jan. 18, coming off a game where he set the school record for 3-point field goal percentage in a game (7-for-8) vs. Northern Michigan.
Laser was one of the Chargers' top all-around players in 2008-09, ranking second in scoring, second in rebounds and first in free throws made. He matched Eaton with a team season-high of 27 points in the win over Northern Michigan on Jan. 16.
