Sophomore third baseman Jessica Guertin was named Third-Team All-American Wednesday afternoon by Daktronics. The vote was conducted by sports information directors from Division II schools across the country.

Guertin received votes from nearly every sports information director who voted in the process to select the 2010 softball All-Americans. She became the first player from Hillsdale to ever receive All-American recognition since the school became a Division II institution, and the first Charger so recognized in the four-year history of the Daktronics All-American program.

Guertin shattered many records and led the GLIAC in three significant offensive categories during the 2010 campaign. She finished with 15 home runs, 49 runs batted in, an .880 slugging percentage and a .436 batting average. Her batting average, home run total and slugging percentage led the GLIAC.

She also set school records for most home runs and runs batted in during a season, and after two years, holds the school's career home runs record with 21.

Guertin was named First-Team All-Region by Daktronics, which made her an automatic All-American candidate.
