GLIAC to change the start times of men's and women's basketball games for 2010-11 season
July 30, 2010 - Friday afternoon, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced a big change regarding start times for men's and women's conference basketball games starting with the 2010-11 season.
For many years, women's games have always kicked off GLIAC doubleheaders, with the men's games scheduled around two hours after the start of the women's games. That schedule will be flip-flopped for the upcoming 2010-11 season.
The actual start times for games at Hillsdale College will remain unchanged for the upcoming season, with Thursday games set to tip off at 6 and 8 p.m., and Saturday games at 1 and 3 p.m. However, the men's games will start at 6:00 and 1:00, while the women's home games will tip off at 8 and 3 p.m. throughout the season.
In 2011-12, the men's and women's schedule will switch back to their traditional times.
The Charger teams will open conference play this season on Thursday, Dec. 2, as the men's team will take on Ashland at 6 p.m., with the Hillsdale women's team battling the Eagles at 8 p.m. The 2010-11 Hillsdale College men's and women's basketball schedules can be seen on the links embedded on those teams' official webpages,
