
Congressman Mike Pence to Speak at Hillsdale
Lecture on September 20
Representative Mike Pence of Indiana's 6th District will give a public lecture on Monday, September 20, at Hillsdale College titled "The Presidency and the Constitution." Mike Pence was born in Columbus, Indiana. He graduated from Hanover College in 1981 and earned his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1986. After running for Congress in 1988 and 1990, he was named president of the Indiana Policy Review Commission, a state think tank based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1991.
Mr. Pence was first elected to Congress from Indiana’s 6th District in 2000 and was most recently elected to a fifth term in 2008. That same year he was elected unanimously by House Republicans to serve as House Republican Conference Chairman. During the 109th Congress, he also served as chairman of the House Republican Study Committee, the largest caucus in the House of Representatives. He has emerged as a national spokesman for conservative principles, having been profiled in several newspapers and appearing regularly on FOX News, CNN and MSNBC.
