Hillsdale won for the 14th straight time, 3-1 over the host Lakers. The Chargers are now 15-1 overall on the season, and 12-0 in the GLIAC. Hillsdale will now enter next weekend's GLIAC/GLVC Challenge Tournament in Aurora, Ill. as the conference's number one seed.

Three freshmen started the match, and junior Ashlee Crowder did not play. The new lineup took some time to come together - the Lakers took a 16-9 lead in the first set - but several younger players came to the forefront for the team.

Freshman outside hitter Caitlin Kopmeyer had a career-high 14 kills, while leading the team in total attempts for the first time. Sophomore Kaleigh Shuster (pictured), who had only played three sets all season, delivered a career-high tying seven kills, including four in the second set.

The Chargers won the first two sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-20. The Lakers rallied from a 17-11 deficit to win set three 25-21, before Hillsdale cruised to a 25-14 win in the fourth set.

Junior Amanda Geelhoed put together a fine all-around match, using her wide-ranging skills in several different aspects of the game. She also tied a career-high with seven kills, but also had three assists and three block assists for the Chargers.

Junior Clara Leutheuser added 11 kills, while senior Sydney Dow led the team with 17 digs. Freshman Bekah Draves, making her second career start, had five kills and just one error. Junior Apryl Schmucker dished out 33 assists, and was second on the team with eight digs.
