November 19, 2010 - Venturing to the state of Tennessee, the Hillsdale College men's basketball team had its shooting eyes on, as it won for the third straight time to open the season.

The Chargers shot 63 percent from the field in earning a 76-57 win over Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee Friday news story image night. Hillsdale, now 3-0, will battle Carson-Newman on Saturday afternoon in the second of the Chargers' two-day trip south.

Hillsdale shot a blazing 68 percent (15-for-22) from the floor in the second half, and got some terrific contributions from several players off the bench. Offensive balance is nothing new for the Chargers, but when players like Anthony Manno and Tim Dezelski are getting into it, that is something new, and welcome for coach John Tharp.

Dezelski (pictured) had a perfect game shooting the ball, leading the team with 13 points. He was 4-for-4 from the field and made all three of his 3-point shots, along with both of his free throws.

Manno, who was not part of the regular playing rotation a year ago, had 11 points and also made three 3-point shots. Junior Matt Clarke popped in 12 points, while junior guard Tyler Gerber had 10 points, five assists and four steals for Hillsdale.

The Chargers led 35-24 at halftime, and led by as many as 25 points in the second half.
