November 20, 2010 - On a day where two fall sports seasons ended at Hillsdale College, one of the school's winter sports teams continued an impressive start to its season.
The Chargers' men's basketball team is now 4-0 on the season after Saturday afternoon's 71-66 win over Carson-Newman in Tennessee. Hillsdale will now play its next five games at home, starting with a Wednesday night matchup vs. the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
The Chargers won Saturday's game thanks to a strong second half, where they came back from a three-point halftime deficit, grabbed the lead five minutes into the second half, and never let it go.
Junior forward Brad Guinane powered his way to the best game of this young season, with 16 points and a career-high 17 rebounds for Hillsdale. Fourteen of his rebounds came on the defensive end, which shows his improvement in the paint area.
Junior forward Brent Eaton nailed five 3-point shots and led all players in the game with 21 points. Nick Wasdhburn and Tyler Gerber each scored seven points for Hillsdale.
