December 19, 2010 - A 20-2 run in the first seven minutes of the second half sprung the undefeated Hillsdale College men's basketball team to its 11th win in a row Sunday afternoon.
The Chargers entered the holiday break on a very positive note, defeating GLIAC South Division rival Ashland 80-50 at Ashland's

Kates Gymnasium. Hillsdale, ranked 10th in the nation, is now 11-0 overall and 5-0 in the GLIAC, while the Eagles fell to 4-5 on the season.
Seventeen days ago, these two teams played a tight contest in Hillsdale, with the Chargers edging the Eagles by just four points. But it was a different story Sunday, as Hillsdale played like a top-10 team, particularly in the second half, when it blew out Ashland 47-23.
The Chargers shot 60 percent from the field (15-for-25) in the game's final 20 minutes, while limiting Ashland to just five made field goals and 23 percent shooting from the floor in the second half.
Hillsdale's forwards were cooking in this game, led by junior Brent Eaton's 23 points. Eaton was 4-for-6 from 3-point land in the game.
Junior Brad Guinane (pictured) had a fine all-around game, with 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. Eaton and Guinane combined to shoot 16-for-26 in the game.
Hillsdale's 11 straight wins to open the season represent its second-best start to a season in school history, trailing only the 13-0 start generated by the 2001-02 team. The Chargers are off until Thursday, Jan. 6 when it travels to Tiffin to take on the Dragons.
