March 4, 2011 - A total of six different Hillsdale College basketball players earned postseason conference accolades at the awards ceremony held in conjunction with the men's and women's tournaments Friday night.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
After getting shut out of last year's all-conference honors, junior news story imageguard Chelsea Harrison was exactly where she belonged Friday night - on the All-GLIAC South Division First Team.

Harrison, the second-leading scorer in the conference during the regular season, was the only Charger named to the first team. The team was announced on the campus of Michigan Tech University, the site of the GLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament semifinals and finals this weekend.

Senior forward Laura Barczak was named Second-Team All-GLIAC South Division, and sophomore guard Lea Jones earned a spot on the South Division All-Defensive Team.

Barczak has enjoyed her best season in 2010-11, ranking first on the team in rebounds and blocked shots, and second in scoring. A captain of this year's Chargers, Barczak started all 26 games and her 33 blocks are the third-most in a single season in school history.

Jones, a point guard, earned her first career GLIAC award in her first season as a starter at Hillsdale. She leads the team with 50 steals and ranks third with 263 points this season. She had her best game as a Charger Wednesday night in the team's first-round, double-overtime tournament win at Lake Superior State with 23 points, eight rebounds and five steals.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Junior forward Brent Eaton was the GLIAC's second-leading news story imagescorer during the regular season, and Friday night, was named First-Team All-GLIAC South Division.

In his second season at Hillsdale, Eaton averaged 16 points per game and led the team with 63 3-point field goals made. He was a Second-Team All-GLIAC South Division selection last year, and helped lead the team to its first 20-win season in nine years, along with a national ranking that reached as high as fourth.

Junior guard Tyler Gerber earned two honors: Second-Team All-GLIAC South Division and the GLIAC South Division All-Defensive Team. It's the second year in a row Gerber has earned honors for his defensive play, and was among the conference leaders in assists and steals all season.

Senior guard Nick Meinert was also named to the All-Defensive Team in the South Division. Meinert was a starting guard all season, and had his most productive campaign for the Chargers in 2010-11. Meinert was third on the team in steals, and regularly drew the assignment of guarding the opposition's top scoring guard.
