Linda Okonkowski earns honorable mention All-American honors after placing 15th at national championships

March 12, 2011 – Hillsdale College junior Linda Okonkowski can add honorable mention All-American to her impressive list of
accomplishments in her career.
Okonkowski finished 15th overall in the 200 meter butterfly event at the 2011 NCAA Division II Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, held in San Antonio, Texas. Based on finishing in the top 16 overall, Okonkowski achieves honorable mention All-American status. The last time a Hillsdale College swimmer earned that kind of honor, was Colleen Rickard in 2002.
Okonkowski finished the race in 2:06.21, which is less than a second off her school record in that event. She has qualified for the national championships as an individual, or as part of a relay, in each of her three seasons at Hillsdale.
