April 18, 2011 – The Hillsdale College athletic department is pleased to announce the addition of women’s tennis as a varsity sport starting with Fall 2011.

The school sponsored the sport until the spring of 2005, when it was cut, along with men’s golf.

A search is currently underway for a head coach. The regular season for the tennis team will start around the first week in September and conclude before Halloween. The 2010 GLIAC Women's Tennis Tournament wrapped up on October 24, with Grand Valley State defeating Northwood University.

The Chargers finished with a 1-9 record in 2004, their last season of competition. Hillsdale was the GLIAC champions in 1983.
