Jamie Meyers steps down as Hillsdale College softball coach
June 9, 2011 – The Hillsdale College athletic department announced Thursday that softball coach Jamie Meyers has tendered her resignation, effective June 30. The search for a new coach has begun.

Meyers led the Charger softball program for four seasons, from 2008-11, compiling an overall record of 62-123. After missing the GLIAC Tournament from 2007-09, Meyers led the team to the conference tournament in each of the past two seasons.

“I want to thank Coach Meyers for her work with our program over the past four years,” Athletic Director Don Brubacher said. “We wish her nothing but the best in her future.”

Meyers has been a part of the Hillsdale College softball team every year since the fall of 2003, when she came to campus as a freshman shortstop. Meyers was a four-year letterwinner for the team, being named Second-Team All-GLIAC three times. She was a team captain in 2006 and 2007, and earned a place on the GLIAC All-Academic Team. At the time of her graduation, in May of 2007, she was the program’s all-time leader in career home runs with 18. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the college, with a major in history and minors in political science and the classics.
