September 11, 2011 - On a somber day for the country, the Hillsdale Colege women's tennis team had cause to rejoice.

The Chargers picked up their first GLIAC win of their new era Sunday afternoon, defeating Lake Erie College 8-1 in a home match. Hillsdale is now 2-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

The Storm had to forfeit three flights in the match, but the Chargers played extremely well in the on-the-court matchups as well. Junior Brittany Parks cruised to a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win at #1 singes, while freshman Morgan Delp won her first career conference match, by a score of 6-3, 6-3.

Morgan Linden notched her first collegiate victory, winning a close match at #3 singles, 7-6 (5), 6-2.

Also getting into the win column for the first time was the #2 doubles duo of Abby Sjoerdsma and Ellie Voci. Parks and Delp played near flawless tennis in getting an 8-0 win at #1 doubles.
