Hillsdale 3, Tiffin 0
September 17, 2011 - It has been more than two weeks since the Hillsdale College volleyball team lost a set.
The Chargers dispatched Tiffin University in less than an hour Saturday afternoon, 3-0. Hillsdale won the sets by scores of 25-16, 25-13, 25-18. The Chargers are 8-1 on the season and 4-0 in the GLIAC, and face a challenging road trip next weekend

against three North Division foes.
Hillsdale continued to operate efficiently in the match, with 15 of the team's 17 players seeing action. Senior Ashlee Crowder led the offensive attack with 14 kills, hitting .423 in the process. Tiffin was unable to get much of a block on Crowder's powerful attacks.
Middle hitters Clara Leutheuser and Lauren Grover combined for 15 kills, just two errors and two solo blocks and five block assists. Grover in particular, played another strong match, executing the team's "quick" portion of the offense with frightening efficiency.
All four of the team's freshmen saw action, and each had their bright spots. Setter Alexis Waugh played the entire second set, which saw the Chargers whip the Dragons 25-13. She had eight assists in her one set of action.
Bailey Lindner (pictured) delivered several crowd-pleasing digs and made Tiffin work hard to dig up her serves while playing in the third set. Kat Carpenter recorded her first career start, and Meagan McPhetridge had two kills in her one set of action.
Senior Apryl Schmucker had 22 assists in two sets and Morgan Podkul had 11 digs for the Chargers.
The Chargers will play at Ferris State, Saginaw Valley State and Grand Valley State next weekend.
