Ashlee Crowder named GLIAC volleyball South Division Player of the Week for 9th time in her career
Senior OH led #8 Chargers to 3 wins last weekend
October 17, 2011 – Hillsdale College senior volleyball Ashlee Crowder was named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week for the second week in a row. The award was chosen and announced by the conference office.

Crowder earned her second straight conference award thanks to a superb weekend at the 2011 Mizuno GLIAC/GLVC Crossover news story imageVolleyball Tournament in Aurora, Illinois. Playing three of the top five teams in the GLVC, Crowder led the 8th-ranked Chargers to three 3-0 sweeps thanks to a total of 47 kills and 23 digs.haa hitting percentage of .449, incredibly efficient for an outside hitter against top-notch competition. She had just seven hitting errors in the three matches.

A two-time All-American and reigning GLIAC Player of the Year, Crowder has led Hillsdale to its top-10 national ranking and a current winning streak of eight matches. She ranks second in the conference in kills per set (3.78) and is fifth in hitting percentage (.338). This is the ninth time in her incredible career she has earned South Division Player of the Week honors. Crowder played volleyball at Jenison High School.

Crowder and the Chargers have three road matches this week, starting with Tuesday night’s tilt at Wayne State.
