Meet Results
January 22, 2012 – The Hillsdale College women’s swimming team finished in third place at the Butler University Invitational Sunday afternoon, while competing against four Division I colleges.
The Chargers finished with 507 points at the meet, just 14 points behind second-place Xavier. Youngstown State won the meet with 644.5 points. Hillsdale finished well ahead of host Butler and Valparaiso at the five-team meet.
Hillsdale took home two first-place finishes at the meet. Freshman Rachael Kurtz won the 500 freestyle in 25.14 seconds. She led a 1-2-3 finish of Chargers in that event, with teammates Hayley Johnson and Lauren Burt earning those spots in the event. Kurtz would later take third place in the 100 meter butterfly event.
Senior Linda Okonkowski won the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.16. She also placed second in the 200 fly with a time of 2:12/20.
Freshman Jordan Rucinski turned in a strong performance for Hillsdale in the 1650 free, finishing third in 18:26.50.
This represented the last meet for the team until the GLIAC Meet, which takes place Feb. 9-12.
