Tiffin 65, Hillsdale 52

February 11, 2012 - The Hillsdale College women's basketball team saw its two-game losing streak come to an end Saturday afternoon, losing at Tiffin University 65-52. Hillsdale is now 12-11 overall and 8-8 in GLIAC play.

The Dragons forced the Chargers into a season-high 26 turnovers and quickly wiped out a 10-point Hillsdale lead early in the first half. The Chargers got off to a strong start, building an 18-8 lead thanks to a pair of 3-point shots by senior Katie Bildner. But Tiffin rallied quickly, taking its first lead 22-21. The Dragons continued to extend their lead from there, and never let the Chargers get closer than six points the rest of the way.

Tiffin outrebounded Hillsdale 39-26 in the game, and shot eight percent better from the field.

Three Chargers scored in double figures, led by 14 from junior guard Lea Jones. She played all 40 minutes, and had four steals and three rebounds. Senior Chelsea Harrison scored 10, and freshman Abbey Lovat recorded 11 with seven rebounds.

Hillsdale will play its final home regular season game Thursday against Ohio Dominican University starting at 6 p.m.
