March 2, 2012 – Seniors Brad Guinane and Tyler Gerber were each named First-Team All-GLIAC by conference coaches at the all-conference awards banquet Friday night. The event was held at Johnny T’s restaurant in Hillsdale, as part of the semifinals and finals of the GLIAC Tournament, being hosted by Hillsdale College for the first time.

Senior Brent Eaton earned Second-Team All-GLIAC recognition, while Gerber and sophomore guard Brandon Pritzl wwere named to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team.

Guinane was one of the Chargers’ most consistent players throughout the season, and enjoyed his most productive year in 2011-12. He led the team in scoring and rebounding and was named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week twice, including the last week of the regular season.

Gerber, the team’s starting point guard over the past three seasons, led Hillsdale to its first regular season conference championship in 31 years by averaging 11 points, 5.3 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. He finished the regular season second in the conference in steals and was also named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week earlier in the season. Gerber’s All-Defensive Team honor was his second in the past two years.

Pritzl enjoyed a breakout season in his first year as a starter for the Chargers. He averaged 8.3 points per game, and his strength, quickness and wingspan allowed him to guard multiple positions on the floor, with great effectiveness throughout the season.
