2011-12 GLIAC All-Conference awards release

March 2, 2012 – For the second year in a row, Hillsdale College senior guard Chelsea Harrison was named First-Team All-GLIAC. The conference postseason awards were announced Friday night at Ashland, the site of the GLIAC Women’s Basketball Tournament semifinals and finals this weekend.

Junior guard Lea Jones was named Second-Team All-GLIAC, and earned GLIAC All-Defensive Team honors for the second straight season.

Harrison finished her career as the fifth-leading scorer in Hillsdale College women’s basketball history in 2011-12. She finished in the top five in the GLIAC in scoring (16 ppg) and was among the top 10 in the conference in assists, 3-pointers made, 3-point field goal percentage and minutes played.

Jones finished as the steals leader in the regular season in the GLIAC, and was Hillsdale’s leading rebounder despite being the team’s shortest starter. Jones averaged 10 points, six rebounds and nearly four assists per game for the Chargers.
