March 28, 2012 - Hillsdale College's Brad Guinane became the school's first-ever NCAA Division II All-American, when he earned honorable mention honors from the D-II Bulletin. The notification came out in a press release issued Wednesday afternoon.

Guinane was the leading scorer and rebounder for the 2012 news story imageGLIAC regular season champion Chargers. He averaged 14.3 points and six rebounds per game in leading Hillsdale to its best single-season winning percentage in school history (24-6, .800).

Guinane was named First-Team All-GLIAC and First-Team All-Region, and his All-American recognition perfectly caps off a fantastic season. He hit a high point in the team's 84-62 GLIAC Tournament semifinal game against Michigan Tech, when he scored a career-high 30 points.

He finished his senior season scoring in double figures in 17 straight games, and led the Chargers with 19 points in their first NCAA Division II regional tournament game in 10 years, a loss to the University of Indianapolis March 10.

He finished his career ranked 23rd in school history with 1,165 points, and was one of three players on this year's team to score at least 1,000 points in a career. His career free throw percentage of .801 ranks him seventh in school history.

Guinane was a four-year starter for Hillsdale at forward, and moved up on the team's scoring charts each season of his career. As a freshman in 2008-09, he was sixth on the team in scoring. He moved up to fourth in 2009-10, and second in 2010-11. He increased his scoring and rebounding totals in each of his four seasons at Hillsdale.

He also earned GLIAC South Division Player of the Week honors three times in his career, twice in 2011-12.
