
Dr. Laura Niklason to Speak on "Medicine Beyond Drugs: What Cells Have in Store for Us"

Dr. Laura Niklason is the founder, director, and chief scientific officer of Humacyte, Inc., a company that builds hearts and other organs from scratch out of donor cells, using a proprietary technology platform. These organs can be engineered in diverse shapes, including small diameter tubes for arterial work, and sheets for patching damaged organs and tissues.
Dr. Niklason is recognized as one of the world's leading experts in cellular therapies and regenerative medicine. She is a professor at Yale University in biomedical engineering and anesthesia, and also serves as vice-chair for anesthesia at Yale.
