The Hillsdale College Shotgun Team traveled to Saint Louis, Missouri, during the first weekend in March to compete in the SCTP Central Midwest Collegiate Shotgun Championships. This tournament was hosted by Lindenwood University, which exempted itself to host 14 colleges and 120 shooters. This was also the final regional tournament for most schools before the National Championships in late March.

Hillsdale got off to a great start with American Trap on Saturday. KC Borman took first place for the ladies, and her score along with those of Ian Pentecost, Joe Kain, Blake Scott and Tyler Kotowski put Hillsdale in second place as a team.

Pentecost was the top shooter for the event with 98/100 targets, and Kain tied for second with a 96. The top five shooters entered into a super finals of 25 targets.

Pentecost, Scott, Kain, Kotowski, and Jason VanDeWeghe shot the top scores for Hillsdale Saturday afternoon in American Skeet. Hillsdale College came away with another second place team trophy, and Kotowski shot his first 25 straight.

On Sunday, the team first shot International Wobble Trap. Pentecost and Kain were the only ones to run all 50 targets for this event! Next, the team shot on the newly installed International Bunker trap, where Pentecost dropped only two targets. Pentecost, Scott, and Kain combined for a team first place in International Trap. Pentecost and Kain moved on, as part of the top six shooters, into a Super Finals 25 target event on the Bunker.

Anna Pfaff won the sudden death shoot-off in just two shots to take home the First Place Lady trophy in International Trap.

Pentecost won second place High Overall for the tournament, missing first by just one target. Kain finished fourth overall, and Scott eighth. The rest of the team shot very well.

Hillsdale College finished the competition with a second place High Overall Team trophy, and a good deal of confidence as they work toward the National Championships the end of this month!
